In June 2005, CNOOC’s first office was set up in Perth, WA. It is responsible mainly for the daily operations in its North West Shelf (NWS) investment, while also functioning as the Chief Representative Office of the CNOOC Group. Its role is to prove communication and coordination support to its ongoing projects, and to manage the business expansion of all CNOOC’s subsidiaries as delegated by CNOOC Headquarters. The managing director of CNOOC NWS acts as the Chief Representative of CNOOC Group in Australia.
CNOOC AIH Private Limited
CNOOC AUSTRALIA INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS (AIH) PRIVATE LIMITED is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC International Limited (CNOOC INT’L). The company is based in Perth, responsible for the management of its assets, including North West Shelf Project participation, WA-484-P exploration in Australia and four exploration blocks, namely PPL374, PPL375, PPL378 and PPL405, in Papua New Guinea.
CNOOC NWS Private Limited
The NWS Project is Australia’s largest oil and gas resource development. In December 2004, having completed the acquisition of an equity interest in the project, the company acquired a 25% stake in the CLNG JV and an approximately 5.3% interest in certain production licenses, retention leases and an exploration permit of the NWS project.
The China Liquefied Natural Gas Joint Venture (CLNG JV) is a new venture established within the project, and its purpose is to supply LNG from the project to the pilot LNG import project in China-Guangdong Dapeng LNG (GDLNG) over a period of 25 years.
In 2006, the CLNG JV started commercial production, delivering the first cargo to GDLNG. By the end of February 2016, CNOOC NWS, together with other partners, had achieved the safe and stable delivery of 496 cargos of LNG to GDLNG.
China Oilfield Services (COSL)
China Oilfield Services (Australia) Limited is an Australian subsidiary of China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL). It was established in 2006 in Perth to provide drilling, logging, and seismic acquisition services.
Since April 2006, Nanhai 6, a semi-submersible drilling rig of COSL, has been providing offshore drilling services to Woodside, BHP, Santos and others. In 2014, COSL Australia provided a three-dimensional geophysical data acquisition service to CNOOC. In Australia, we have established highly efficient multi-dimensional internal financial management processes. In addition, our security management performance and drilling services have been highly recognized and appreciated by local oil companies such as Woodside amongst others. In Australia, we have achieved nine consecutive years of accident-free offshore operations.
With its origins in China, COSL is an integrated oilfield service solution provider with nearly 50 years of experience in offshore operations. With its four major business segments: geophysical services, drilling services, well services and marine & transportation services, covering exploration, development and production, COSL is an all-round offshore oilfield service company with integrated functions and bundled services in China and around the world.
COOEC Australia Pty Ltd
COOEC Australia Pty Ltd based in Perth, was founded in December 2013, as a subsidiary of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (Stock name: COOEC. Stock code: 600583), is renowned as the largest offshore engineering construction enterprise, and the only large-scale general contraction company in China, integrating offshore oil and gas exploration & production (E&P) design, onshore production and offshore installation, and commissioning and maintenance. It deals with the exploration of oil and gas fields, the design and construction of auxiliary projects, and the offshore installations as its major business.
On February 5, 2002, COOEC was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It boasts domestic first-class qualification of offshore engineering. In addition, it has been widely recognized by the industry based on its spectacular achievements over the years. It also possesses over ten qualifications and certificates granted by related international and national authorities, such as Grade-I Construction Enterprise Qualification, Grade-A Engineering Design Qualification, Certificate of ISO9001 Quality Control System and SMS. Besides, it has established an all-around, multi-level and wide-range personnel structure, adapting to the EPCI projects for offshore engineering construction.

EnerTech Services Australia Pty Ltd, based in Brisbane, was founded on April 26, 2013 as a subsidiary of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited, which is one of the three biggest service providers in CNOOC, with a registered capital of RMB 6 billion in 2008. In 2013 the total assets of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited reached RMB 30 billion with an annual turnover of more than RMB 33 billion.

CNOOC Gas and Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of the CNOOC Gas and Power Group, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (“CNOOC”), a State Owned Enterprise based in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (“CNOOC”), the parent company of CNOOC Gas and Power, is the third-largest National Oil Company in China. CNOOC focusses on the exploitation, exploration and development of crude oil and natural gas offshore of China. The company participated in the QCLNG project which is operated by QGC, based in Brisbane, and is also the operator of Exoma – a Coal Seam Gas (CSG) project in Galili basin.
